I'm a Sydney based Dj who's hometown is Manchester, but psshht I've lived everywhere.

My foggy first memories are of various marching band tunes I heard drifting from the streets of New Orleans, where both I and jazz were born.

My family then moved me to Scotland
followed by Pakistan
followed by Venezuela
followed by England
followed by India
followed by England again
followed by Tunisia
followed by Australia where I currently reside.

Dj-ing is about mixing a and b together to make c, i think that living in such a variety of places with different cultures has allowed me to open my mind to what a and b might be which often leaves me with a rather interesting c.

One of the releases of last year was daft punks soundtrack for the latest tron movie which leads me to believe that one of the releases of this year will be Daft punk’s tron r3conf1gur3d. It is what it says on the tin daft punks ground breaking soundtrack reconfigured for a more club orientated sound

Special mention goes to the fantastic remix of the already fantastic derezzed

MORTAL KOMBAT

Electro fans might recall the news that before going all electro metal on us, MSTRKRFT was working on the sound track to the next video game in the Mortal Kombat series, taking it in a decidedly clubby direction.

Now the cat is officially out of the bag with the game’s publishers revealing the full lineup of dance producers assembled for the wonderfully named soundtrack, Mortal Kombat: Songs Inspired By The Warriors.

As well as JFK leading the charge with his track for Scorpion, the compilation features a slew of of-the-moment names including Harvard BassLA Riots and Skrillex as well as a few Dim Mak acts like Sound Of Stereo and Felix Cartal.

The soundtrack also features frequent Jay-Z and Memphis Bleek producer 9th Wonder and a particularly good joint from Congorock, Is it crazy to think that this might actually work?

i say no way!

but if you remain unconvinced ill allow skrillex’s theme for reptile do the talking.

Creamfields

The creamfields festival began in the north of england and has been arguably one of the biggest electronic festivals for a long time. Creamfields then took its electronic pedigree to other shores in its world tour. This year is a must as it is being headlined by one of my personal favourites deadmau5, for all you aussi’s the creamfields tour goes down under in april so get your tickets now!

Magnetic man

Magnetic man just released his new album and it features some big names, including jessie j and john legend. The album gets two thumbs up from myself as his songs are catchy and original. He’s got a really unique sound check it out.

Shazam

Shazam is an app that you can get for most of these new fangled clever phones. It listens to music and tells you what the song is called.

Its awesome!

Experimenting

It’s worth it, like buying a car or something it’s good to shop around. Dance music is this generations rock n roll but the dynamics of the industry have changed completely, which has allowed the genre to branch out into like a bajillion different sub-genres. Its worth exploring as much of those sub-genres as you can because as your shifting through metric tonnes of musical shit you may stumble across an absolute gem.

If you need any gem’s shoot me an email and ill shoot one your way.
Saves you the shit shifting.
